I have been closely watching stock markets since 2002 and started investing in shares in 2004. Drops Savings Investment stared in 2006 is a social initiative to help people to attain their financial goal by promoting savings and investment. And of course I have got some true friends who support this cause.
Concept of Drops Savings and Investments is purely for small and middle income people. Focus is on people who have only drops, not ocean! We want to change the paradigm of spending, unaffordable luxuries, personal debts and financial wastes which make them more poorer! (and we blame governments that its policies make rich richer and poor poorer!). We want to develop the culture of savings and investment. We want to impart the financial discipline among middle and lower income class.
Drops Savings and Investments believe in long term investments in shares. Sustained regular investment in shares will give reasonable return irrespective of up and downs of the share market over the period. Invest in companies not in market or indices.
Through this website, I intend to help you with the know how to start investing in shares, share news on savings and investments and develop a community who believe in mutual support to attain individual’s goal.
I will be sharing the information on what share I buy and sell from time to time. There are plenty of sources of information for investing in shares, but mostly they just relay the mouthpiece of brokers who really make money when people buy and sell more frequently. I would rather depend on various research reports of independent research providers, both paid and unpaid services. Also follow the news on those companies in which I have investment or I have intention to invest in future. I share these independent information with you through this website.
I am an investor who try to adhere with the Sharia principles on investments. It is basically to be distant from interest, avoid companies involved in the business of production and sale of vulgar entertainment, alcohol, tobacco and substances which harm human beings and environment like ammunition and weapons of war and business of lending and borrowing on interest (banks and finance companies). It also does not encourage investing in high debts companies and there are certain guidelines in the area of liquidity etc. Even if you are not an investor who wants to adhere to Sharia guidelines, you may still consider ethical investment abstaining from investing in such companies customized to suit your own believes and values.
My sincere thanks to my friends for their continued support for this initiative.
